Welcome to ZazieWorld!
Hello! My name is Mojca, I am a designer and maker behind ZazieWorld.
I live in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia with my husband, two kids and a cat. Here is a glimpse of the first real spring friday of this year.
6.45 I wake up. No need for an alarm clock because my daughter and the cat are early birds. The smell of pancakes brings my son from bed, too. A cup of coffee for good start of the day. I like to make strong Turkish coffee.
8.00 Like every school day we are in a hurry to arrive in time. Finally spring has come so we can go to school by bikes.
8.30 Computer: checking mail, Etsy, facebook…
9.00 I start to work on choosing and editing photos that I took of my jewelry on previous days. Making good photos takes a lot of time. Which one to choose? Hopefully I will list this necklace soon.
10.30 My studio is my kitchen table, so before I start working I have to make room. I believe toys in our house have legs – they always finish on the table.
10.45 Today I am pouring resin. Some unfinished things from last week and some brand new: big rings. While working in the morning I always drink black tea from my grandmother’s tea service. I adore beautiful old things that have a soul and can tell a story.
13.30 After lunch I ride my bike to the centre of Ljubljana to our bookshop to visit my husband and check on the cabinet where my jewelry is on display. We have a cup of coffee. We used to work together in the bookshop but nowadays I am concentrating more on my craft.
15.00 I pick up my daughter from school. Afternoons I spend with my children. My son is already at home. After a snack we decide to go to park Tivoli and nearby forest Rožnik. We live just ten minutes from the park. I adore beginning of spring when leaves are unfolding in front of our eyes. This light green is magical. Not even a month ago we had a snow storm and freezing temperatures. I pick some leaves for my jewelry projects.
This day is so beautiful. The sun is slowly setting and we get ice cream at Tivoli castle. The promenade from the palace brings you directly to the centre of Ljubljana. We get back home, eat dinner and watch some TV before children go to sleep. My husband has returned from the bookshop. In the evening we like to have a glass of wine or a beer. Then I’m going to spend some time on computer again, finish few necklaces, maybe watch TV for a while. Our cat is still very awake. Running and climbing is the part of her evening routine.
Thank you for letting me share my day with you!
